Hi there, I wanted to ask if anyone had any tips on reducing or getting rid of that butterfly/nervous tummy feeling and/or tight fluttery chest feeling? It's been here for what must be months continuously now and starting to make me stress that it'll never go away and is a constant reminder of trauma and my sadness.

Uncomfortable feelings
Hello S, It sounds as if the feelings you are getting are anxiety linked. I don't know as much about anxiety as I've never had that badly but it is something you should see your GP about.
I believe there are many self help therapies such as mindfulness , meditation , breathing and relaxation exercises which really work. You could check for any classes on one of these in your area ,or even quicker read a few books on each (libraries are full of them) and try one that seems suitable for you.
Its been with you months because you have n't actively done anything about losing it. It will almost certainly go away eventually on its own but I would n't wait for that.
See your GP and find out yourself about therapies that will help.

Hi Olderal, thank you for your reply.
I have been taking citalopram and now sertraline to help cope with depression but am I constant (but sometimes controllable) fear that I am having a mental/nervous breakdown. I've found breathing exercises help distract and soothe I can't do them 24/7!
I also had a phone call from my new counsellor that I haven't met yet which has made the anxiety slightly worse! I'd just like to forget it all for a little while x
