You will be breathing with two lungs and shows it is anxiety as in the fresh air you feel fine
Try not to focus in on your breathing because it will start to feel something is wrong if you do

I feel the same way. When I go outside I feel so much better. I think we're in the same boat
I was in therapy(panic attacks) a long time ago where breathing was discussed.
I think we can all do with a bit of correct healthy breathing like:
In with you nose out your mouth
Your belly must lift up when you breath in.
Keep your breath in a few seconds.
Resist the temptation to breathe in again, to quickly after the previous breath (as if you did not get in enough oxygen)
If we can breathe correctly we can stimulate the vagal nerve that can help us calm down.
