Hi, Are you on any new meds?

I use to get that whenever I was put on a new antianxiety medication.

I know how scary it can be, different than feeling liteheaded. Just be

careful you don't fall or get up fast while feeling this way. You probably

should check with the doctor, three days is a long time to feel this way.

It depends what is causing this. If it's medication or inner ear. When the

room is spinning it could be either. I could tell you to relax but that's not

going to work when you are in a panic state. Let me know how you are

doing now. How long did it last. Meanwhile, it would be best to lie down

with a pillow under your knees and the head of the bed elevated with

a couple pillows. Try not to lie flat. Drinking water to hydrate may help

as well. Hope you feel better soon. xx

It's been an hour since you posted. I'm hoping you are settling down some and the dizziness is fading. Now would be a good time to start deep breathing exercise.

If you have a relaxation cd you could listen to, that might help as well.

Hope you will be okay. Goodnight, try to get some sleep if you can. xx

You probably have vertigo

Ah heck I had the same thing. I had an ear infection and was taking antibiotics for a week. Once I thought I was better from it I get dizzy in class, tried sitting through the dizzy spells but got nausea and dismissed myself to medical.  But it was too late I had a full blown panic attack, one that I even felt embarrassed for having. Nurses were all around me trying to calm me and I was just beside myself in fear.  Turned out I had some fluid in my ear that caused the dizziness, but it just bothered me since it was also new to me. I just hate that I couldn't calm myself for over half an hour.

Hi Ive suffered inner ear infections they are not nice they can make you feel very sick and strange because they disorientate you and can make you scared.

Doctors can check that and prescribe medication for so get it checked out if it carrys on.

Also if your meds are causing this the doctor can look in to this.

Deep breaths take care Ian

What do you do for it? Get a second opinion and see if it's vertigo as there are exercises you can do to help with it. Look up positional vertigo.

Brahmi profile image
Brahmi in reply toNeed-hope

Same here. But ENT said TMJ but doc says its anxiety. So who to believe?

in reply toBrahmi

Thats why idk what to do once they know you have anxiety every thing gets blamed on anxiety 😤

in reply toNeed-hope

Look into Vertical Heterphoria which is an eye condition, not every eye doctor can test for it. Also look up SCM muscles issues. It is a muscle in your neck. Those are the weird things people don't usually tell you to look into. The usual things are to have your ears checked and blood work done to see the Iron, Magnesium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12 checked. When any of these are low it can make you dizzy.

in reply to

Oh wow iam vitamin D deficient...... Found out when i was pregnant with my baby. Hes 6 months today :) i just hope its anxiety or ear related and not a brain tumor... :(

Brahmi profile image
Brahmi in reply to

I thought the same that it was a tumor. It's not, I promise. Dizziness is rarely anything major. Definitely see an ENT to rule out ear infection, problems. And yes, anxiety seems to be blamed which means it's all on our head :/

See your GP immediately and have your ears checked my wife was devastated for 6 months with vertigo which has the symptoms you say and was terrified everyday. It is treatable via ENT consultant but GP referral needed. Good luck!

in reply toZuperNev

Thank you. I see my Dr. In 2 weeks but if the dizziness keeps on occurring im off to the ER

I have the same trouble on and off. My GP sent me to an ENT specialist, but he was less than useless. Only gave me drops for my nose. The first lot caused blurring of the vision, the second lot which I have just started, seem OK but reading the side effects, they can cause glaucoma. He wasn't interested in my vertigo, so I am hoping your GP will send you to one that is better than the ENT doctor I got. The fear of falling if you are old and have osteoporosis can give you panic attacks, so be careful and try and hold on to walls, chairs etc. when walking about indoors. Maybe a walking stick to steady you when you go out. I am nearly 73 yrs old, so perhaps you are younger. Go see the GP and try and get a referral to a good ENT doctor. Kind regards, Val.

in reply toOuthwaite

I do fear of falling. Iam 26 years old and i hate getting these dizzy feelings. Makes me nauseous

You could have a ear infection, the infection in the inner ear will make you feel off balance & dizzy. Best get it checked by a Doctor to be sure.

Are you having anxiety and/ or depression? I'm going through the same and been dizzy for over a month. ENT said TMJ, my doctors says anxiety/ depression so I just started on anti depressants. So far not helping. I had one day where I felt "normal" and back to hell. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Definitely go see your doctor.

Look into Vertical Heterphoria which is an eye condition, not every eye doctor can test for it. Also look up SCM muscles issues. It is a muscle in your neck. Last thing to consider is wisdom teeth. Those are the weird things people don't usually tell you to look into. The usual things are to have your ears checked and blood work done to see the Iron, Magnesium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12 checked. When any of these are low it can make you dizzy.

Hi,

First thing is not to panic. If it's gone on for 3 days then go see your doctor. I got dizzy spells especially when I stood up too quickly and that was because of my blood pressure. My Dad has had dizzy spells which were caused by a touch of vertigo. My brother-in-law gets dizzy spells because of ear infections.

I've even had dizzy spells when I was taking care of my hydration levels. So be thing to do is not panic just go speak to your doctor.

Take care and I hope you get it resolved.

I have been super dizzy now for 3 days and can't get rid of it, I also feel like my vision keeps getting blurry! I'm so nervous. I have had every test done and it comes back normal. Is this an anxiety symptom???

Could be inner ear. Look up Epley's maneuver. The first or second time thru is rough but it gets easier.
