I too have had some instances where I have been out and about and have felt light headed and it feels like my head is floating above my body.

I always thought it was due to low sugar and always had a sugary snack when I got in.

The only way to get through it is to realise that it may be a symptom of your anxiety and it may be best to get it diagnosed by a GP first to rule out any other conditions.

If it is anxiety related, you may need to take it slow and build yourself up to going out again as the more you put off going out, the more anxious you will be and you need to not let anxiety win this time! :)

I did go to the gp about this and I had to do blood tests but all come back ok I do go out if I'm with someone just in case I do but I do feel week at the knees and feel as if I'm trying to stand Normally it's s horrible sensation I use to think it was sugar so I would always carry a sugar drink with me or snack but it didn't work then I thought it was that I was tired and worn out but with weeks of plenty of rest it still didn't get better so now I'm left feeling as if it is my anxiety witch makes it worse as now I need to find the trigger to it witch is so hard to find it took me a year or so to find stress or anger as a trigger for my anxiety on a day to day basses 🙃

Has your GP not put you in touch with any support groups or any courses in your area?

I am currently on a stress awareness course and it is helping me understand how anxiety affects me (I have restless sleep and palpitations) and it has been very useful up to now.

I understand how horrible it must be for you to experience these episodes and how scary it can be if you are alone.

My gp set me up with someone that come over to talk to me and see my progress and at 1st this lady come by once a week then once a month then I received a letter from my gp saying I should leave that support service by taking tests even though I told the lady that I was still in the thick of it all and didn't want to be discharged from there services but after refusing to be discharged from there books they just stopped coming by I have had the anxiety and panick attacks since I was 15 I'm now 25 I still have panick attacks but the more control I took over my panick attacks that's when the dizzy spells kicked in so it replaced it so to speak I was in councils go until I was 19 they said in there notes that I was coping well and getting back to my self witch I was but they did return within a year so I have been asking my gp to set me up with a countciler again

Hi. I can understand how awful it must be for you to live with that. Probably most of us on here have had the same thing at some time or another, so we can sympathise with you. I agree with you that it is good to find 'triggers', enabling us to avoid them, but this search in itself can become part of the illness by developing into ocd if we are not careful. Agorophobia is a common symptom of ocd and has its roots in anxiety. So perhaps try not to focus so much on finding the trigger at the moment - give yourself a chance to rest and try some different approach maybe.

Do you have someone who can accompany you when you go out? Or at least when you pick up the children from school? If you can begin a process of 'reinforcement therapy' I think that might help you. So you start off with baby steps - get dressed as if going to leave the house. Open the front door and just look out for a minute but dont go out. Each day you go a bit further. The idea is that you will build up to eventually managing to get to the school - and managing to get there on your own at the end. The other person is there to encourage and reinforce the positives that come from your progress.

I hope this might be some use for you and that you will be able to get back your normal life at some point. You will always find support, care and encouragement here in this group :-)

The thing that set all this off again was with my anxiety it started off as a phobia of chocking on food as a result I then thought there was a lump in my thought after years of counciling and test taken I over come it well the worst of it there were foods I would still not eat after I had my daughter we decided we needed a bigger place so we moved witch meant a new doctor I was fine with this but my 1st appointment to get my proscription for vitamin drinks the doctor asked me why I said my last doctor sent over my notes and then I exsplained to her why I needed the vitamin supplements (I do not have a eating disorder) but the doctor then told me if I don't suck it up and get over it I would have a hart attack and die a week from that appointment with that doctor I was back to square one so I changed doctors again to get some really help and that's when the dizzy spells kicked in sometimes some people do so much damage that took years to fix I'm now 10 years since my 1st panick attack and when my anxiety kicked in with a long recovery

Hi I experience. This all the time standing in the school yard or trying to go out and get a few messages the worst is feeling like someone is strangling me I also stop going out but we have to try fight it I bring an empty buggy every where with me to keep me steady
