Hi. I know you posted this a few hours ago - and hopefully you will have had a bit more sleep. I thought its still worth replying anyway
Many people, including me, believe that dreams are really an extension of waking life, and we face the same kind of things in dreams as we do when awake. The difference is that dreams are a safe place where we our subconscious tries to deal with the difficult issues that we repress in waking time.
It is not a coincidence that your dream is health related - you suffer from health anxiety. Your subconscious is trying to find a way for you to be able to face the thing that scares you most head on, but in a safe way. Its when we face things that they lose their power over us. We have all heard of the school bully who backs down when people begin to stand up to him. This is the same kind of thing - your fears only have power so long as you allow it.
There are also other external influences that may disturb our sleep - is it warm enough in your room, what did you eat or drink before going to bed, even what colours are you surrounded by in your bedroom - certain colours like black, or generally dark colours are known to trigger depression in people.
Anyway - just a few thoughts that I hope might be helpful
Karl
