This left arm pain is annoying me now it horrible why does anxiety do this and I keep getting a pain over my left boob it's horrible x

Hi. Sorry to read of your pain. But you are doing exactly the right thing - you are moving the focus away from that to here. One of the things about anxiety is that makes you believe things are happening that are not. A small example of this happened to me last night. I called my mother for our first chat of the new year. When she came on the fone she sounded absolutely awful - and she said that she felt really awful. So rather than just have the usual 10 minutes talking I decided to keep going. I deliberately diverted her attention away from herself by asking questions about the past and my childhood and so on. In about 30 minutes her voice was completely different and she was talking very lucidly and almost excitedly about the past. By the end of the call she said that she was feeling much better than at the beginning. That again showed me the power and effectiveness of distraction techniques as a mechanism for dealing with anxiety. Now maybe you dont have anyone to talk with for an hour, but there might be other things you can use to refocus your thoughts - exercise, reading, playing games, watching tv, radio,writing about something. You might also have a relaxing warm bath for example and perhaps do some reading as you bathe. I am sure you know that the pain is very likely only there because of the anxiety - no doubt you have spoken with the doctor about that. But if not, then just go along tomorrow and ask about it - just to reassure yourself that there is no physical problem. I hope you feel better.soon.

Yes it is scary - I understand as I get the same kind of thoughts and feelings almost every day. Try not to overthink - we just work ourselves into a worse state that way. Refocus. x

I get this too...can't stand it but it's true shifting the attention from it works.... Don't let the demon anxiety win...easier said than done I know ..but we're all still here still breathing..that's gotta go for something eh xxx 💞❤💞

Thanks so much it's just horrible like today had this dizzy feeling in my head like a zap feeling that wouldn't go and my temples at side of my head are sore xx
