Hello. I just read your post and was wondering if your head pressure has been resolved. About 2 months ago, I started having the same issues and have been doing research. I am convinced that it is occipital neuralgia. And I would encourage you to read up on it. I have found only one chiropractor in the US that successfully treats it and I have set up an appt. with him at the end of Sept. His name is Dr. Jim McCarty. Please let me know if you would like more info.

hi,
sorry to hear you are having these symptoms.
I have had the same pressure and tightness in the past, I did insist the doctor send me for an mri which of course was clear. It is an anxiety symptom, but if you are like me you will need the mri to satisfy your concerns and you will then find the symptoms will go xx
Sorry I forgot I didn't say I have been to see ent I have meniers ( don't know if thats how you spell it ) I went becouse I was dizzy couldnt even stand up but the tablets helped all that thanks again
hi jonathan. i too have been having constant head pressure and dizziness for about a month now and its driving me bonkers. as i sit here writing this i keep closing my eyes and moving my head around because of the pressure in my head. i used to get bouts of dizziness which would last days and then fade away but now its been a month and it hasnt gone away. i have no insurance nor money so i have to basically deal with this on my own. i get some relief when i lay down..mostly on my left side for some reason. do you feel any tightness in your neck and upper back when you turn your head to the side and down? ive been doing alot of reading on what could be causing this and i have found many possible culprits. the most common seem to be sinus problems (sinusitis)... ear infections...inner ear issues...neck muscles...anxiety. alot of people mentioned that anxiety was the diagnosis that their doctors gave them. tight neck muscles can mimic the symptoms of sinusitis. have you been to a doctor for this? maybe you can mention some of these things to him. i suffer from panic disorder and anxiety disorder which i know make my symptoms 100% worse. i constantly worry about my health..and any little issue that comes along will turn into a major worry for me. now knowing for sure what is wrong with me is what drives me nuts. i do get some relief knowing there are others dealing with this problem..so i know im not alone.
Hello Mr mike. Where are you from? My go said its all anxiety and the pressure caused by tension heDache . I suffer too a terrible anxiety and panic attacks . mine is debilitating pressure in my head, top both side ,both eyes and face. I'm so freaking out Bd its there 24/7. And I am pretty dizzy or off balanced
Hi i know this was awhile ago but did ur head pressure go away? Thanks
Hello MrMike. I just ran across your post and I was wondering if you have ever found any relief for your head issues. I, too, have the same constant head pressure, headaches, dizziness, lack of concentration. It's been going on for about 2 months now. I have been doing alot of research and I believe it is occipital neuralgia. I would encourage you to read up on it. I have found one chiropractor in Texas who performs treatments and seems to be very successful at curing people. Please reply if you haven't found relief yet.
How old are you mike
i live in california and im 46. ive been dealing with panic disorder and anxiety for about 30 years now. because of that im guessing my issues may also be anxiety related. did your doctor offer any meds that would help with the tension pressure/headaches? i tried tylenol severe sinus medicine which do help a little with the pressure but its still enough that i cant ignore it. my pressure is located mostly in the forehead area and can sometimes come down along the sides of my head and i've even had some soreness in the jaw area..towards the back. do you feel any more pressure on the sides of your face when you clench your molars? i notice that if i am doing some type of physical activity the pressure seems to be less. what makes things worse for us is the fact that we become almost obsessed with what we feel...which makes things harder to deal with. do you have any issues with your eyes? i read that eye strain can also cause these symptoms.
I had an eye check up. The doctor said there us nothing wrong. But my right eyes feels so wuerd. Both eyes are tight. And I get red eyes. And they look not wide as before. It's blury sometimes
my eyes get tired..and i have more pressure above the left eye sometimes. do you take anything that helps with the head pressure at all? i wonder if the pressure is from inflammation. have you noticed if there is anything you do that makes the head pressure any less? like if you tilt your head a certain angle? or maybe crack your neck....or perhaps humming? i know its odd but cant be any different than me getting a bit of relief when i chew right? hehe. i think the scariest part for me is when i think that this will never go away. but i have been through so many other anxiety related experiences that i swear i was convinced would never go away...but they eventually did and thats what keeps me hanging on...waiting for the day this fades away as well. by the way...i said i live in california but i am originally from mexico. came to live here when i was 4.
I find it less when I crack my neck from side to side,
could it be that the anxiety creates alot of tension in your neck muscles...which can put stress on the base of your cranium where the nerves are connected..and this can cause symptoms identical with the ones we have. im thinking this is could be what is going on with me. i googled this and found alot of information about the relationship between neck muscles and head pressure/headaches and sinus like symptoms. many of them also shared exercises to lessen the muscle tension which may help with the constant pressure. at this point im willing to try anything to find some relief. ill let you know if it makes things better. you can google this information yourself if youd like to read more about it. just google "neck muscle constant pressure headaches".
Hi i know this was awhile ago but did the head pressure every go away? Ive the same thing
Do you have any other symptoms? How long has this been going on for?
A couple things that you may want to look into -
1. Lyme disease and all coinfections (Babesia, bartonella, ehrlichia). You have to be tested by Igenex though, regular tests don't always cut it. Your doctor should be able to order an ELISA and a Western Blot. Also ask to be tested for the coinfections above. If you have 2 strains then you are positive forget the CDC needed 3 strains rule. And you need no less than 4 weeks of doxycycline. If you test positive find an LLMD - a Lyme literate Doctor who can help you There are Lyme groups on Facebook where members give people names of doctors by them.
2. Diet - Try cutting out all dairy, caffeine and gluten for one month and see how you feel.
That was exactly my symptoms last year ,and I was scared to DEATH! I found out its a SERIOUS "SINUS" Problem /infection . It can be in your face, neck, eyes ,in the back of your ear .etc different places. Of course you still would want to get it checked ,but I suffered from sinus infections A LOT. I use to get a (z pack ) from my doctor to help. My mom also gets this.hope this helped
I too have been suffering from constant head pressure for going on a year now. Its driving me crazy and I'm worries it will effect my ability to do my job. I where a ball cap immediately after work and where it all the time except at work. I where a compression wrap around the base of my neck as that helps some while at work. I have had an MRI of my neck, CT scan of my head and Xrays. I have been tp my PCP, ENT, Neurologist, Neuorsurgeon and now I am seeing a headache specialist. I havre been all many types of muscle relaxers which have not helped to date and nerve medications. I'm not on Tazanadine and Lyrica. I've been to physical therapy and have gotten many deep tissue massages all which were of no help. No I am getting an MRI of my head in two weeks and doing physical therapy again but focusing on trigger point therapy. Hoping this helps. I'm at a loss for what to do. I have also cut out caffeine for the most part, switched to a vegetarian diet, bought an at home neck massager and ice packs but again to date nothing has made a dent in the tremendous head pressure, discomfort and pain I'm in constantly. Its all over my head. Only feel better when I'm laying down completely motionless. It has seriously effected my life making it nearly impossible to do physical activity for any length of time and it sparks my anxiety. Now I am looking into anxiety as the potential culprit underlying my condition. I will keep at this and let you all know if I find any remedy. Hang in there.
Hello. I have been having frequent headaches for months and I can't even rest the back of my head against a chair without it causing pain . Then about 2 months ago, I started having constant head pressure along with some headaches, dizziness, hard to concentrate. I know this isn't anxiety. I have had panic attacks off and on for 30 years. I think I have the answer. I think it is occipital neuralgia. It can be treated, but there is only one chiropractor that I can find who is qualified to do the treatments. His name is Dr. Jim McCarty and he is located just outside of Dallas, TX. He has many testimonials, mostly on YouTube. I just spoke with him and he seems like the real deal. I have set up an appt. with him at the end of Sept. His phone# 720-297-3104. I would suggest calling and talking to him and watching his videos and then you can decide what is best for you. Best of luck.
