Nasty taste in my mouth

Does anyone else experience a awful taste in the mouth when there anxiety is bad?

hi liz ive just started sertraline for anxiety and I get a funny taste could it be medication if u are on any hun x

When the anxiety is real bad, I tend to mouth breath which dries my tongue out. I believe it is the dry mouth that causes the bad taste.

Yes. I agree with the person who said it was due to dry mouth. When we have psychological issues like anxiety we often neglect to do things like eat and drink on a regular basis. Anxiety also often causes a difference in the way we breathe -causing us to breathe in through our mouths in short breaths, adding to the drying out of the mouth. Of course there may be other reasons, like diet or medication, but as you say it is around more when anxiety is bad then I would be more inclined to believe that it is probably due to dry mouth syndrome and issues around breathing. Your doctor might be more helpful on this issue.
