The terror is the worst. I just had to write a story to take my mind off it. Literally, open an editor and start typing something, anything, fiction so that I had to concentrate on making proper sentences. That was an hour ago and now I feel a little better plus I have a miniature story which I've now stuck on a website.
Distraction is the only way for me when the paralyzing terror strikes. Do something. Something absorbing. Something hard. Solve a puzzle or wore a book.
The fear will pass when you truly concentrate on something else.
