I just got prescribed it but haven't taken it yet. My psych says it is known to have the least amount of side affects. Hope this is true. Good luck!

Hi Mattlyne, I had taking Buspar for almost 3 months and it did work for me for my anxiety it works perfect.. Only thing or problem. I had was always my physical symptoms from anxiety it didn't help much withh them but The Buspar did keep me calm with no anxious feeling ... Just the shortness of breath chest pains and other symptoms were still there but that's how my body reacted to it everyone is diffrerent my aunt and uncle take it and they say it works wonders for them at first you will prob feel lightheaded and headaches etc this will pass in a week or so not as bad might get a twitch or numbness at times but I slept through it .. I wish I can be more of a help I'm not really taking anything now as I have finished my Buspar and psych won't give me a new prescription for it she switch me to Lexapro but my body isn't made for ssri' they make my symptoms worst rather then helping me so I stopped them in a week I went into a inpatient to take Start them off since I've had bad experiences before with other ssri and the only thing that seems to help me out with not much side effects is Clonazepam or Ativan but I only have a few of those pills to take only ass needed .. Prob taking around 20 total in four months but my psych won't prescribe me them also .. Only what she thinks is best for me but I'm trying to explain to her nothing works only the Benzo but she refuses and insist on having me on a ssri like Lexapro .. Don't understand Doctors she aupoae to help me not make me go through hell with all this medications I feel like a guinee pig .. But no more I won't take anything else unless it's Clonazepam or natural supplements which I'm trying now so I'm hoping and praying to God that this supplements will work on me since I'm done with Medicationa I will go to my regular Doctor and have him prescribe me some Clonazepam for as a need to take basis only low dose .. I try not to take more then .25mg if I don't have too unless it's extreme extreme il take .50mg but that would be like mane twice or once a week if I'm having panic attacks of its anxiety I try to deal with them on my own and the supplements and if I can't sleep o would take .12mg at the end of the night but won't take anything else unless I have too no choice ... Hope this help so yes Buspar works on some people it's great and it's not suppose to be addicting but we all know they will be some type of withdrawal I've read good things about it for a lot of people I would go back on it if I have too and deal with the physical effects on my own ... I'm doing it now plus having the anxiety feeling to top it off .. Wish you luck and God bless hope you feel better soon... Let me know how it works out for you ..

I tried it once back in the 90`s. It was useless, & it made me dizzy whenever I turned my head.
