Hello, everyone. I'm trying so hard to let go of my fears, but they just do not seem to be leaving me. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and acid reflux. However, I can't help but feel like something more is going on. I have had pretty consistent head aches/tensions in my temples for weeks, and most foods seem to really mess up my stomach. I don't get nauseous, I just start feeling weird after I eat. I get singles hiccups with or without food, and sometimes random burps. Sometimes my chest burns a little, but for the most part I just start feeling like something is not right. I also seem to notice that I have to clear my throat a lot after eating sometimes, and sometimes even when I haven't eaten. I guess I'm just really afraid that something serious is wrong with my digestive system, and if it is left unchecked it will somehow be the death of me. Like, that somehow bacteria will get into my blood stream and spread throughout my body. I've been afraid to sleep at night because of this. Most nights I have managed to get to sleep, but I always end up waking up in the middle of the night feeling so afraid. I just don't know what to do. Has anyone ever had symptoms like this? Any support and guidance is much appreciated! I hope you are all doing well!

Are you taking meds for the reflux? Google GERD symptoms. I experienced everything you described this summer as my anxiety has been through the roof.
After a couple weeks of taking Zantac, the symptoms cleared up pretty well. Including the clearing of the throat.
Don't overeat, stay away from caffeine and alcohol and junk. And don't eat before bed.
You'll be just fine. Good luck!
So sorry you are feeling so bad and scared. When the doctor gave you your diagnosis, Did he prescribe any meds? If not, you need to first work on your acid reflux. There are many over the counter meds that will work. Next watch your diet. As you eat, and you do need to eat, eat healthy and keep journal of what foods cause acid reflux and omit them from your diet. Drink plenty of water also. Take these pills so you are not thinking of your symptoms. They help. Next, this seems to be your trigger for anxiety. So, first work on your acid reflex, get more sleep (lack of sleep causes you to have more anxiety, exercise and maybe ask you dr for meds for anxiety so you can calm your mind and body thereby getting some sleep. You need to help yourself. Won't go away on its own. We are our wor enemy by just focusing on ourself. Do the above and see if you start to feel better. Don't do it just a few times and give up. Be strong and have the determination you will feel better over time. One day at a time. You may even have some food allergies and that is why you keep your food journal.
