So I went to the doctors for some support and was basically told what drug do you want....
I went for beta blockers, never had them before and haven't taken any yet. The plan is to only take them when I'm having a really bad episode. I will test them on a day when I don't have to drive or be somewhere so I know the effects.
Is anyone on them? Do they help with social anxiety?
I take 40mg at night, that's when im at my worst. the info leaflet says 40mg for instant relief of situational anxiety, or 40mg two or three times a day for treatment of generalised anxiety. will be best to discuss this with your gp. good luck x
I don't drive , but cant see anything on leaflet that says you cant, however better taking your first when you have nowhere to go, just to see how you react x
It's good to try and address what has caused this but sometimes in the end we have to rely on drugs, and they all have side effects. The question is can we tolerate them, does the good out weigh the bad? Positive lifestyle changes are very important ,most people think they just cannot make them(and actually that's where the drugs may help to give one strength to make them) . Also distancing yourself from your current situation til you can think, see more clearly....Cat
