does anyone else have this fear? I spend 2 hrs by myself after school and I have bad panic attacks at this time. Does anyone know of a really good distraction?

I have said this on another forum but I find journaling a good way of distracting myself. Write down how you are feeling. Stop and read your writing back.

It will then feel like you are with someone and not alone.

I have felt scared being alone recently and journaling has helped me a lot.

Hello

I do not know how old you are, one way is to write down your feelings although personally when young I would sit in my Surrogate family home and watch television, or radio and listen to children s hour that was 1955-58. When I was older I would generally put on the television with a glass of orange , or make a cup of tea and wait, again this was the early sixties and possibly I may go out for a while and play with friends or if my surrogate arrived she would have my Dinner and comic waiting for me.

Although this was a different time all I can suggest is look for a diversion. Could you be allowed to wash the dishes or prepare food for family coming in. I was taught to cook at about eight years old and that would help me as well as it diverted my thoughts

Good Luck, please do not worry

Yes dear. I suffer with it immensely. I can't stay home alone either for fear of something bad health wise happening. Have had it a few months now. The key is to get it under control now before it gets worse. Keep the TV on or turn some music on. Crossword puzzles while having the TV on is a REALLY good distraction. Or step outside and get a breath of fresh air and see the world around you. Listen to the sounds around you. If you have friends or family close by, remind yourself they are only a call away. Call a friend to distract you or text them. These are all things I've done to help me. And if you have close neighbors, usually someone is home. Remind yourself that you're not alone because they are merely next door. I hope this helps! :)
