Hi Dyson.

I find deep breathing can help, slow breath in hold for a count of 5 then slowly breath out.

I also use calm.com,you can download the app to follow, there is also mindfulness and headspace to download also.

Exercise helps some,I go for a walk,i knit,read a

Listen to music and play games on the iPad.

Everyone is different and finds their own ways to cope. There is no quick fix,you try lots of things till you find something that helps you.Try not to overthink and don't google, these can make you feel worse.

Hope this helps

You have to find what works for you, but hear are some things I do, hope some of these help you too.

- take deep breaths and long exhales. When a panic attack sets in we automatically tend to hold out breath, so breathing and counting you breaths to 10 helps. Once you reach 10 count again only going up to 10 until you calm yourself.

- go on a walk. Flight or fight responses kick in, so going on a walk helps the body and mind sync because of the movement.

-talk to someone. Your mind can start racing and sometimes all you need is to let it all out. Talking to some one helps you get yourself out of your own head.

- drink some tea. Certain tea's have calming properties that can help you calm down.

Wishing you all the best.

I do all the things that the others suggested (except for drinking tea! Yuk! :) ).

The physical exercise bit is the bit that is best for me. Gets rid of some of that adrenalin that is building up inside you.

The other day I got really bad and hid in bed for most of the day. I eventually phoned my mum and talked to her - that took my mind off it a bit. Then I got washed and dressed, by which time I'd distracted myself a bit more. Then I went and cleared the shed out in the garden. An odd choice of activity, but it took my mind off my anxiety and for the first time in 24 hours I felt like I actually wanted to eat (I go off my food when I'm in a big stress).

I've had a few wobbles since then, but generally I'm much calmer and slept much better last night.

One thing I try to remind myself is that in the same way some people suffer my migraines, I suffer from excessive worry which leads to anxiety. I try not to beat myself up about it, it's just the way I am and I can't help it.

Hope you are feeling better now.
