Hi Jamie
I get tinnitus on & off & have just suffered with it so loud for 4 weeks but I did have an ear infection , having said that it nearly drove me mad , but it has quietened down now thank goodness & I only hear it a little at night
I did however read up that anxiety can give you tinnitus along with dizzy spells so the more anxious we get over it the chances are the more we will get these symptoms
I noticed you said previously you were going to see your GP ?
Were they very helpful & did they give you the all clear ?
I know it is not easy as I feel you have just started with anxiety symptoms & I know how frightening that is when you do , but if you can try & keep occupied as the less we focus in on how we are feeling it really helps to take away the fear & the anxiety does get less
Give it another week or so & if things are not improving then go back to your GP & ask to be referred for some counselling maybe , but let them know you are still not coping
I have though been light headed for weeks , even longer when my anxiety has been at its worse & not until I have accepted when the GP has given me the all clear that everything else is fine has it improved over time , I am sure yours will to
Love

Hi WhyWhy,
Thank for your reply, I have actually had tinnitus since I was 21 I am now 29, I have never officially been diagnosed with tinnitus I self diagnosed really, might push for some test to see how bad it is and see if its the cause of my 2 week dizziness. i thought i might have a brain aneurysm at first then brain tumors - that's kinda where I am at the minute - so I got my GP tomorrow what should I ask him to check? my blood pressure is high also had that tested.
cheers
Regard Jamie
Hi Jamie
That made me laugh you have been self diagnosing , something over the years with my anxiety I have done lots of till I accepted I wasn't a doctor & never would be so maybe I should listen to them instead
So if it was me I would make myself a little list of what I wanted to ask the GP as when I get there , I can go blank & forget & then when I come out I think Oh no I wanted to ask that & forgot ....they don't mind you getting it out & saying to them I have written a few things down so I don't forget , in fact now I go in & say to my GP wait a minute while I get my shopping list out as I call it & she even laughs with me & then says come on then lets go through what you think is wrong because usually most what I do go with is what my anxiety has convinced me of & not actually happening in reality !
I would tell them I had been suffering with this ringing in my ears for 8 years till now it was getting me down
They should examine your ears & if not I would ask why they didn't have a look in them & if they can not see anything & don't offer I would say well as its gone on 8 years I would like to be referred please this has gone on long enough & is getting me down
Not because I think you have a Brain tumor as I have never heard of anyone that has had a BT due to tinnitus & I don't think you will be the first even though I do understand our anxiety tells us this but because by been referred they can see in your ears , you may have an inner ear infection that could easily be cured with some meds , it could be as simple as ear wax & you need them syringed but they will sort it for you & that will give you peace of mind with that one
Then I would mention I am concerned about these dizzy spells , again they should reassure you what this is , could be your ear contributing to it or they may find no reason what so ever why you are having them which would point more to anxiety maybe but they will tell you what is a matter if anything
I started with high blood pressure round your age which is quite young really or I thought so
The doc knows your last reading was high , but sometimes just been at the docs having it took can make it go high as we can feel anxious & that can send it up
But your GP has all your medical records , so they add everything up , like your age , weight & so on to make up their minds if there is any reason to be concerned or maybe put you on meds for it which I now take but it wasn't till after a couple of years when no matter what I changed like diet & so on that my doc put me on them as sometimes they do like to see if it will go down on its own with a few lifestyle changes especially if you are young , which you are
But mention you are concerned that it was high & whats their opinion , how often would they like you to keep going back to have it checked & if they are not worried try & tell yourself that it must be ok , because it would be more than their job was worth to leave you with high BP if there was reason for concern
Then you could tell them about how anxious you have become , think back have you been anxious all your life or when did it start & so on & tell them all , they will have heard it all before & more believe me & then tell them you want some help as you are struggling & what can they suggest & offer ?
And anything else you maybe concerned about add it to that list if you are going to make one & get the best out of this appointment & hopefully you will come away with some peace of mind
Well I have rattled on a bit her so I will shut up , but let us know how your appointment goes
Good Luck

Hello Why,
I will write my list now, also the dizziness has been constant since my first panic attack 2 weeks ago - also wow nice long message thanks for taking the time here
I dealt with my tinnitus years ago and got over it in the end I got over it by just thinking well if it was something terminal id be dead by now, I just need confirmation its that which is making my ears ring louder then I should be less anxious and be able to be a bit calmer. I know tiredness and stress and being anxious and high blood pressure can make the ringing louder.
thanks again
