Feeling dizzy

hollylauracoleman profile image

So when I leave the house I would say 80% of the time I feel dizzy. Then followed on by a headache! This just makes me anxious all day and more symptom follow! I'm so tired and fed up with feeling like this. I've had a blood test for hormones, all ok. I can't stop worrying about a brain tumour or stroke, it scares me so much ,just writing this I can feel my anxiety increasing. I tell my self everyday I'm still here breathing living but it never stops.. what should I do next?

Hi have you tried stugeron ( cinnarizine) travel sickness tablets doctor gave them to me for dizziness. They are brilliant dizziness goes within first day of taking them ,but they do make you very sleepy until your body gets used to them.plus good news you can buy them over the counter.they are also great for vertigo.feeling sick.middle ear problems ,try one at night first as you will feel really sleepy.

Can I ask you , did your dizzynous only affect you when you went outside? I asked the doctor to look in my ear but nothing out the ordinary to be seen.. i actually still get travel sickness in cars and I'm 31 years old lol x

Yes I felt like I was walking on a boat unsteady.I get sinuses and always have blocked or runny nose to.but if I get anxious the dizziness was always worse.I think its caused by tension in the neck and shoulders as we tense up when anxious. I carry the stugeron tablets with me all the time.they are brilliant and had no muzzy head or headache when I was taking them and felt relaxed.

I am sure you will feel better after the first tablet.you will have a great sleep and that horrible muzzy head that goes with the dizziness will disappear.plus you will feel more relaxed and less anxious.

It's the worrying that's theirs something seriously wrong with me that the hardest. Everyday I think I'm going to faint or die. Sounds so extreme but I'm sure it's going to happen.

There is no need for this amount of worry... Tumors or masses are not location dependent and as you mentioned the light-headedness occurs when you hit the outdoors.

It's a bit difficult to judge about your symptoms with this little info, but if the thought of it really bothers you this much, do an MRI, and when you saw the results, just forget about any freaking tumors or lesions and live your alive life ;)

I used to feel horribly dizzy among other symptoms. It was so scary. Eventually the GP diagnosed anxiety and I self referred myself via i-apt (mental health services). It took a while (but I'm london based) but eventually I was seen by a CBT counsellor. Things suggested to me have been regulating my breathing ( I think lack of oxygen could be causing the dizziness) and meditatation (I listen to some breathing meditation videos from you tube) and exercise. I didn't go on any drugs. Over a year I've gone from feeling dizzy every day and not being able to do jury service out of fear if a panic attack to being much more able with only occasional relapses. I highly recommend seeking professional help for your anxiety.

I had CBT treatment I also went to see a mind counselor. It was medication that got rid of the dizziness.but I'm glad you found relief from your dizziness by other methods and feeling better.
