I was just put on 10mg of Citalopram as of yesterday for my anxiety. Anyone have any experience with this drug and what I should expect while taking it? I would greatly appreciate any feed back. Thank you!
Citalopram: I was just put on 10mg of... - Anxiety Support
Citalopram
This was one of the first antidepressants I was put on, it took a couple of weeks to start working and for it to get used to my body. I had a couple of mild side effects which were mainly agitation and nausea which passed after a few days. Sometimes it can take about 4 to 6 weeks to feel the full benefit. Currently I am taking 45mg Mirtazapine for anxiety and depression it also helps me sleep as it is sedating but it has put a stone in weight on me.
Hi
I have been on citalopram for a few years, currently take 40mg per day. I suffered with nausea and headaches when first taking the meds and took sone time to get dose right. Main side effects for me continue to be tiredness, yawning, ringing in ears and Weight gain but I guess this is better than how I used to feel

My daughter took them for about 12 months for post natal depression. Some minor side effects (slight nausea, dry mouth) which were short-lived and they got her 'back on track' slowly but surely. Hope they work for you but it'll take a while to get accustomed, so be patient. x
Thank you ladies. I appreciate the feed back.
I took them for a while just before my wedding, I found them very helpful an I didn't have any side effects, the only thing is they take a while to start working, about 4 weeks for me, I think there's too much stigma around antidepressants sum times cause they do help a lot of people hope u feel betta soon x
