Hi I have been on Citalopram for 13 weeks today. Feel about 50% better. Is this the norm? Very anxious in the morning but improves most days by the afternoon. Constant ear ringing as well. Any advise most appreciated. Thanks!

I am also on that med. I have been on it now for about 12 weeks. How much are you taking? I am up to 30 and going from 20 to 30 helped a lot with my anxiety. My problem is headaches and some trembling. I am actually supposed to wean off it and try Zoloft ( has worked for me before) but I am freaking out that I am making a mistake. I just got through 4 hours of work today, have not worked for four months. I just can't tolerate these headaches much more but what if it's not even celexa? Sorry could not be much help but I wish there was an easy answer. I feel like by week 12 or 13 side effects should wear off.

Hi, I am on 20 mg. Started at 10mg for 6 days then 20 ever since for anxiety that just came out of know where about 5 months ago. I expected a better result after 13 weeks. My doc has suggested I try another or up my dose but I am reluctant to do so. I have already invested so much time and pain into the Celexa don't want to start all over with another that may not work. I am female and only about 110 pounds so 20 MG should be enough. Very frustrating experience. I have not taken time off work. Lucky enough to work from a home office with just monthly head office meetings and some cross country business travel. Been tough though. Sitting in a meeting feeling treacherous on the inside while trying to look and sound fine on the outside. Exhaustion like I have never experienced before.

I honestly don't know what to do?!

Oh, I only feel about 50 percent better as well, still taking Ativan for anxiety at times.

Well I just decided to continue with celexa. I also invested a lot of time and it has helped so I am going to give it some more time. I may raise it to 40 ( see what psychiatrist says) but we will see. I just don't want to go backwards right now going onto another drug. Maybe in a month if I am still not feeling better I will switch

Good Luck. Let me know how it goes. I am having a brutal day today. High anxiety and just feeling unwell overall. Tired of this ride! Just want my life back.

Take care.

How are you feeling now drewscot? I'm also on citalopram and have been for 6 days now I've been told to take 20mg citalopram. Wondered if you had got any better? As I am worried to take the next step but suffer crazy anxiety at the moment, I have settled times but it's like my brain suddenly remembers it wants to torture me x

Hi, I know exactly how you are feeling. It took me about 5 months to feel better. I know it seems like a long time but you will improve gradually in the weeks, months ahead. Many see good results much faster. Despite feeling pretty anxious and miserable I did not miss any days of work. I got thru it. If I can anyone can. You will be fine. Just take it a day at a time it will be worth it in the end. Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions or are having bad days. DREW

Hi, yes pretty much. Still have moments of just feeling off..hard to explain. Persistent tinntus which is unsettling but apprently common with this AD. I have been taking Cit for a year come April. I hope to start to taper off this spring. Will see how that goes!

How are you doing?

Hi drewscot, thank you for getting back to me.

I have only just started Citalopram a few days ago but Ive heard alot of good about this drug so I am hoping that it does me some good.

I have also heard that tinnitus is a side effect, when you come off the tablets it should then start to go away...

im glad that you are feeling better... anxiety is really horrible.
