Citalopram: Been prescribed 10mg citalopram... - Anxiety Support
Citalopram
hi my friend on these for depression I never even knew he suffered till Tuesday when he spoke about it.hes on a stronger dose but he gets a bit moody agitated as he never had any.i was on them years ago and I sweated a lot felt dizzy and a bit paranoid.but hey we are all different and they may well be what you needed.
10 was too much for me at first. I ended up doing 5 once a day then upped to 5 in the morn then 5 at night for a total of 10mg. I’ve been on it for 6 months and am a new person with zero side effects.
I’m quite sensitive to tablets so do u think I would be allowed to half the tablets to 5mg to start with? Do u just cut yours in half?
Sorry for the delay...stomach bug took over our house. Yes I cut mine in half :). Never asked the doc just did it since I was just starting. Make sure when you start, that you don’t ever stop cold turkey. Also I felt better immediately and my best after several months.
Thanks for reply hun. I still haven’t taken them. I’m still too scared but my anxiety is horrendous again. I fell asleep earlier and woke up feeling like I can’t breathe properly again so now I’m wide awake.
I went through the initial fear as well. I finally took the plunge and can’t imagine where I would be if not. Ask yourself, are the symptoms of anxiety better than some initial side effects of tiredness (if that even happens). Look forward, not backwards, and think “this is going to give me my life back!”. I could still feel anxiety for awhile but it felt “muted” so I could apply strategies such as deep breathing and muscle relaxation. Don’t google side effects because they don’t apply to everyone and those are just a few bad reviews out of the MANY whom have benefited (people don’t write up good reviews normally, just bad). Do you have a loved one that you can rely on to be with you 24/7 for a day or two so you feel secure as you adjust?
Before starting them I tried 9 months of natural strategies without relief. I felt like I was dying most days. The smallest noise would send me into fight or flight. I would have panic attacks for no apparent reasons at bedtime...I started to hate sleep. I woke up with my heart racing and sick. It’s ALL GONE. It feels like a distant memory. Do read up on how the brain works and how stress will exhaust chemicals and how this Med will balance you. Best wishes and please don’t hesitate to ask questions or for support! 🤗❤️
im Just not sleeping well at all and I keep getting blurry vision but think that’s my anxiety making me have these horrible symptoms with my eyes. My partner is not understanding as he hasn’t suffered with anxiety before but him nd the kids are actually suffering thru me cos if the way I’m feeling each day. Xx
