Hello, Please can anyone answer my question.

I am currently on ESA in the support Group. At the end of the year, I will be in a position to have to re-apply for it. From what I understand, whilst waiting to hear the answer, they continue to give me the money, at least that is what I have been led to believe. However, I had heard that they have cut down the time you get to fill in the ESA 50 form, I think it was 4-5 weeks, I have since heard that it is about 3, please, please can anyone put my mind at rest over this. It was difficult enough the first time around trying to get it done in the time limit, but if they reduce the time, it will make it so much more difficult.

I would be most grateful for any information anyone can give me.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi

First & I know it isn't easy but try not to worry , you have till the end of the year & who knows this system could have changed again by then

Also there are rumors that anyone that is in a support group because Atos backed out they are behind & they are leaving people where they are for 2 years till they catch up with the back log , now this may only be a rumor but I have been hearing a lot about it

At the side of the page I have pinned a post to the right titled ESA & PIP Payments have a look at that & you will be able to read what they are saying about all this

Also I would advise you to inquire at your local CAB about support with filling in these forms as they can assist & are very good

You could explain your situation as it is now & ask how could you assure you could get an appointment with them when you do have to fill them in as you need the support

They have all the answers & are dealing with this all the time

Hope this may have helped a little bit

Love

It is always best to fill benefit application forms in without delay tramelia. I'm not sure about the time limit but the general rule of thumb is that the longer you leave it, the longer you'll have to wait for the outcome. Some benefits like the new PIP's is taking a minimum of 6 months now I believe. Did you keep a copy of your first application? If so this should make it easier to do the renewal. Good luck.

Hi formidable

Thanks for your help. I do try to do it ASAP, but find it very stressful. Thankfully I always keep copies of things, and I did so with my last ESA. I can't believe that PIP us taking 6 months minimum, it just does not bear thinking about.

Take good care. Tramelua

As far as I know reassessments have been suspended only new claims are being processed.
