Hey everyone really need some support today :,( iv convinced myself over the past week that I have a serious illness. It's all I think about I'm convinced my life is over. I'm awaiting test results which is making me more anxious than ever. My rational and irrational thoughts are constantly battling each other. I can only describe it as hell right now :,(

Sorry to hear you having a tough time. Are you getting any support for your anxiety?

You say you have had sometimes, which is good as you are taking action to see if anything is wrong.

I mind can go into overdrive about these things and you are not alone in thinking like this. Try to distract your thoughts in to some thing else, watching TV going out for a walk. I know it is easier said than done. Or you could say to yourself right thank you mind ( where you thoughts are coming from) I except what your telling me and don't fight it except you are worried and now you will move on to something else. The test will be ready when they are done and you will deal with then then.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

My dr has put me back on medication and I'm waiting for an appointment to speak to someone. In the mean time it's a living nightmare x

hi amz, I know its awful waiting for test results, thoughts go through the roof, but in my long experiences of test results they are never as bad as you think they are going to be, please stay as positive as you can, love jasper .xx

Sorry your not feeling so great.

It's horrid I know waiting for test results but I'm sure if it was any thing they would of called you by now.

Can I suggest a couple of websites/apps that will help calm things down. The first one is called "Headspace" and the other is called " calm.com " both are very good at keeping things calm:)

Oh I know its awful waiting for test results & while we are we have diagnosed ourselves & the anxiety kicks in so we always think it will be the worse , but like already has been said they are never as bad as we think they will be !

I hope you are feeling calmer now but I do understand how this makes you feel

Thank you so much everyone for ur lovely words. I'm feeling calm at the moment (which is a rare thing atm!) so can think rationally again. It's lovely to know there's people that care and can relate to how I feel, iv never had that before xxx

When you anxious it's not easy to block thoughts whether they are rational or irrational but until your results come through you need to try and divert your mind into other things. this could be reading watching television, household chores etc whatever works for you. Also for many on this site myself included exercise works but i appreciate this is not for everyone. Finally if you have someone you can share your fears with who will help you to refocus and shut out/ raTionalize the negative thoughts this can be productive.

Hi amz89.....am feeling empathy for you right now....it's difficult to stay positive while waiting fir test results.

Hopefully they will come back clear.

But, if they don't, you will at least know what you are up against and then you can deal with it.

Not knowing is the worst feeling....try and stay positive difficult though it is.
