Hi
Good question
To be honest Winter seems to last far to long & the dark nights can feel depressing , even though I dont suffer with depression , but when you are shutting the curtains at tea time it just feels the day is over , yet there are hours to go , the days can feel drab
I think the only time I might like it , is if we had a white christmas , & thats about it . oh & not all the time but I like that feeling of been snug & cosy when its cold outside
Having said that , this Summer some of the exceptional heat got me down as well
I can understand though how you feel , I was a single Mum , for a couple of years & once you shut that door & its dark & other than you & the kids , it can feel very lonely
Well this answer hasnt been much help I suppose , but there are so many that feel like you do , so you are not on your own & you will have this site as well
Love

Hi Scooby,
Well, I've never been diagnosed with s.a.d. but I know myself I dread winter. I can't get motivated to do anything, just want to hibernate really lol. As a single parent myself it's hard, still everything to do but it all seems such a slog.
How old is your child/children? My dd is 15.

hello
I too feel extremely down and more anxious with the change of seasons, winter for obv reasons, dark cold I too hate it when it dark at tea time and I rush my day more yet in summer I feel the day lasts ages, I have a bit off an obsession looking at the time:\, summer upsets me too sometimes when I cant get out and more people out on front til late can get me on edge
But I get used to em eventually lol, I think positive, winter to me now, snuggly nights, fire on, snow, I love the rain I finding it calming and my boy loves splashing in puddles and taking his brolly out xxx
I used to hate winter, and adore the summer, because you see more people, and everyone is much happier when the sun is shining..But i'm now of that "certain age", and everything has changed roles, ive become intolerant to the heat, ( too many hot flushes) makes me get stressed when im hot, and now i cant wait for the darker nights so i can get straight into my pj's, and just basically slob out..if its raining its even better, i love listening to it..this site is a haven, at least theres always someone to talk to on here, and helping others as well makes you forget your own problems for a while..xxx
Ha I have hot flushes I dont. Sweat though had them for 6 yrs .I just don't like the loneliness of winter closing my door early then not seeing a sole till the next day even though I have my son. I need adult company my friends are single parents so we tend to stay in.
