Hi londonman, not heard of this before , is it safe and do you know if you can take it with other meds like anti depressants?

How long did you take it for and what effects did it have ?

Mimii :)

Hi mimii,

I was on citalopram 20mg when i used it,

I had no side effects (I don't think it produces any side effects) it just made me calm, no anxiety at all, i just felt normal.

I completely forgot that i used this before, a friend gave me it...I used it for two months, got caught up in work then forgot all about it. I ordered two bottles (200 tablets) on amazon yesterday, they should be here thursday.

Over the last 2 weeks ive found my anxiety to be more physical than mental, that could be down to the effects of the citalopram, so i got to thinking that i need to concentrate on my core, my immune system....thats when it hit me about the Ashwagandha.

I'll keep you updated mimii...

Donna, if your trying for a baby, dont take anything unless it's been prescribed by a doctor, be very cautious, just been worrying about this !!

Hi, had 2 yesterday, noticed I had a dry mouth last night not sure if that's a side effect will see if it's same today x

Mimii :)

Donna , you cant take it when you are pregnant , or it has been known to maybe contribute to loosing babies , so after your announcement yesterday , I wouldnt take them in your case

I have been looking this up LM , sounds good for lots of things , I have more vitamins than Holland & Barretts & always think I get side effects from them

I would love to try these , they are not cheap , so I have to ask myself if I do , will I take them or start thinking I have side effects

Thanks for sharing this & let you no if I give them a go :)

Love

in reply to mimii

Well , I had the H op , was only 39 , so they left my ovaries , think for the fun of it , so I would still have raging hormones , & go through the menopause , so I never have a clue where I am , as nothing to show , except flinging the door open , shouting , headache well migraines , gosh if I had known I would have told them to take the lot , & just gone on HRT even though I was only young , tell it was a man that did the op & came up with the bright idea :D

Hi bonnie, yes they do work, i found the ones i got from holland and barret are a bit weaker than the ones i had a few years back, they do work though, they build up over the weeks, yesterday i took around about 1800mg over the day to get off to a good build up.

You really get the benefits from them after a few weeks, it's the same with any supplement, it takes a few weeks for it to be at it's most effective.

The first few days of taking them i was calm and normal, feel ok this morning, and through past experience i know they work. All the research i have done over the last few months leads me to believe that the reason we all suffer long term anxiety problems is because the brain isnt getting all the natural vitamins and minerals it needs to function at it's best.

The limbic system goes into over drive because of adrenaline being released when we get anxious, the natural chemicals of are brains are low because we lack the essential vitamins and minerals we get from foods and natural herbs and the adrenaline takes longer to dissipate.

Ashwagandha disolves the adrenaline by raising the natural chemicals in our brains, so when we get those random thoughts and dreaded feelings the ashwagandha neutralizes the adrenaline.

The ashwagadha is a herb, one that rights the immune system and makes the brain function properly.

Give them a go bonnie, or wait for more feedback from me....i will keep you updated hun, i'm really sorry you are suffering badly at the moment but remember...you will recover, a good idea is to look into natural supplements that beat anxiety, the brain needs natural vitamins like cod liver oil, vitamin B complex, vitamin D3.... i'm taking all of those plus the ashwagadha and i'm improving.

Also, make some goals, do something that needs your attention and focus, maybe a night class or day class...before you know it you will have recovered.

You can do it bonnie, you're not alone hun...
