just joined, my anxiety is when I am at me... - Anxiety Support
just joined, my anxiety is when I am at meetings or training seminars ,I seemed to have no control over it ,I have to make excuses to leave.
Hi, I got this all way through school and sixth form. I couldn't sleep for worrying and thinking about what could go wrong in lesson, i had a fear of being sick and having a big panic attack in front of everyone. Even though that never happened I did used to have like a mini panic attack in which i managed to hide, it would last about 10mins and i would try to persuade myself everything would be fine until it subsided.
I just couldn't stand it anymore and all the lying and excuses got too much and I began to have a fear of even going near sixth form. I got referred for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) which has helped and ive learned so much with how to cope in these types of situations. I wish I would have realised I had a problem sooner when I was avoiding classes as now I seem to get the same panic in any of this type of situation (doctors, appointments, lessons, even just talking with people.)
Have you been to see your GP about it? It is better to get help with it as soon as you can, as i waited 2years thinking it would go away! Try not to worry, you're not alone!
xx
Hi I have had the same problem, you can fix it in time, and you probably should make it a priority ( not what an anxiety sufferer wants to know) your job will depend on it. Start to really focus on the things that make you feel panicky ie confidence...... how can you feel more confident, being more prepared prior to the seminar doing further research to get a head start, feeling ok about yourself... how you are as a person ( without anxiety ) use each seminar as a building block . It really is one step at a time, give your self a big reward for sitting in on the next one. Feel proud of yourself for getting the job you are in, and don't forget you are being paid to sit there ...its not all bad, YOU CAN DO IT. happy to listen
