Hi it's me again. I have been away for the weekend. All the time I was in terrible pain in my legs plus muscle twitching. I am so tired of the doctors saying it anxiety. Surely it can't cause that much pain. I am sure something is seriously wrong but non one will believe me. Any thoughts I would be very grateful

Pain and anxiety
Hello its me again
O I so no how you feel , the times I have had pains over the years every where , there is nothing I have felt I havnt had & struggled for years believing it could be anxiety , as was told the same like you , but it is
One doctor once explained to me , better than I will but here goes
Imagine we have nerves going all through our bodies & they look like spagettie & when we are tense & anxious , they all tighten & knot up & twine together & with that tension we get pain & all sorts of sensations , till we relax & they un tangle & then those sensations will go away
Well to be honest thats how I see it now when I get those feelings , because it made sense to me & as I relax they ease , give it time & slowly we aim to change are way of thinking & you will
Love

Thanks for the reply, I feel so rough
Hello Holly
I can understand how you feel, my dd complains of nausea & pain in her ribs & back frequently but struggles to believe me when I tell her it's the anxiety & tension, but it is. It's awful & worrying but there are diagrams & things out there that show the physical effects of anxiety.
I know if I had been away for a weekend I would be very tense, even if I was enjoying myself & would need some recovery time afterwards.
Be kind to yourself for a couple of days & I hope you feel better soon

Thanks thompson, I'm just so tired. Anxiety is more tiring than a full days work. So good of you to reply it does help to know your not alone
" Anxiety is more tiring than a full days work" - This is so true & don't forget it! (That's my stern voice lol)
I was told that when we're anxious & our heart is beating faster etc. it is physically the equivalent of running a marathon. Now if you had run a marathon you would expect to feel tired wouldn't you, & you would allow yourself a few days to recover. This is no different so take care of yourself & hope you feel better soon

At my worst I had cramp so bad in both calves that I could barely walk... Sometimes I would hurt all over from the pure tension running through everything. This would lead to me shaking for no reason. I talked to the doc about it and went on a course of CBT plus some meds. Yes! It really can hurt that much!
Thanks for the reply I have had CBT today and I think it may help me. Still have pain in my legs but trying not to focus on them
I get all sorts of pains and aches and believe there to be some physical cause for them. To my dismay I have been diagnosed with somatoform pain disorder. SO as it turns out the pains are real just not physical
