Anxiety help
Hi im new here I have pnd severe anxiety i... - Anxiety Support
Hi im new here I have pnd severe anxiety ive just changed from 40mg citralopram to 50mg sertaline and having really intrusive thoughts
Hey Kel123, I'm new here too and have found this site so helpful. Hope you can too! I don't take meds so I don't know, but it could be to do with the recent change. Did you get these thoughts before? And what sort of thoughts, if you feel like sharing? Don't worry if not. I have horrible thoughts that don't even feel like me sometimes and find it so hard to say them out loud because they frighten me, so i understand if you don't want to say
Hi hvr1 thoughts are just the worst always happens I worry massively about my bsby it scares me x
Just want to say sorry, I feel like that was an obvious question to ask so really sorry if it came across badly. I'm not thinking straight today so I probably shouldn't be posting but really hope the increase in dose works out for you and you start to feel better soon
hi hvr1
Nothing comes across badly , if ever you feel though "o I wish I hadnt put that " because I no I have done it many times , under the comment you have done , you will see it says edit , so you can either edit what you have put or it even says you can remove it dont no if you have noticed that feature , I have had to edit quite a few of mine & remove some
Also dont forget we have the private messages where we can message another member , as sometimes members can feel more comfortable talking in private as well
Best time to come on & talk when you dont feel up to it , its a lot better than waiting till we feel really bad
Dont worry

Hi Kel and welcome,
I changed over to sertraline about 2 months ago and have had the same problems.
I started to feel anxious, lack of concentration, motivation, feelings of despair even suicidal. I know it all sounds very dramatic but this is how I was feeling. I also began to have bad dreams again.
Hope this is of help.

Hi 1b4bed did it get better after a while x
Hi Kel,
Yes, all is starting to return to normal.
I have had some other changes in my life which may have been a contributing factor but I am beginning to have a better sleep pattern.
Still have good and bad days but am far more in control than 6 weeks ago.

Hi kel123
Welcome
I dont take tablets for my anxiety , I have a meds fear for one so that is one big reason I dont
How ever I do no lots of people on here do , & once they have given them chance to work , they have never looked back , but I no from what I read they can take several weeks to work & sometimes what suites one doesnt suite another , so if you are not happy , please go back & see your GP
The intrusive thoughts , people have had them with or without meds & it can be a big part of anxiety , which as you get better they will fade & get less until they will eventually go
We have to try & focus on these are thoughts , & I no not very nice , but thoughts cant hurt us as long as we dont act upon them , & thats when we need help if we feel we would ,otherwise we have to learn to let them come & pass through , which is not easy but with practice it can be done, but you are not on your own experiencing this
You keep talking on here , lots of lovely people that do understand & wont judge as we all no how this feels & you will make friends & get support
Love

You will feel better soon hun , I no it doesnt always feel like it when you feel so bad , but its little steps , we have to be patient , takes some doing I no , but we will all get there , by speaking out on here , you have already made a step , to getting well
Keep talking
