Sounds almost like a panic attack type of thing. When I have felt similar to this I actually sit up in bed supported by lots of pillows and if this doesn't work I get up and take me and my duvet onto a lounge chair. I really find this works for me and it's the siting up and not lying down that does it. Works for me. Hope you get some rest today. xx

Hi Bramwell

Sorry you didnt have a good night

I relate to what you are saying , its happened to me many a time

Over the years , I can still wake up with it , but now if I am anxious , I seem to be able most of the time sleep , but can get that feeling as soon as I wake up in the morning

It does get better , for me its about accepting & trying not to fear & realizing this is part of feeling anxious , I no its not easy , but you are not alone with this

Keep talking

Love

Starting to worry, the only thing that helps me sleep is alcahol, don't normally drink that much. But using it to self medicate is not good, just wish the meds would kick in,it's been 4 weeks now,so desprate

Sorry just seen this , is hard without email notifications

I Bramble , please dont go down the road of getting drink to help you love , I have been there & believe me its not a long term answer , infact if you are not careful , from my experience you can end up with another problem

You seem to be really struggling here , I would go back & tell my GP & make them listen

Let us no how you go on

Hi bramble

I went through the "no sleep thing" last year I was on citalopram and I couldn't sleep day or night I was exhausted. I switched to mirtazapine and started to sleep. I know it's hard but try not to drink alcohol with your meds as it will hinder their effectiveness. I know because I was so desperate to sleep I drank but it just slows down your recovery. What dose are you on? I took 45mg and they knocked me right out. Try some relaxation exercises before bed and I found a mug of ovaltine helped too. Take care love eve x

Hi eve only took the mirazipine for 2 nights, done nothing for me.i am on 50mg of sertraline for the last 4 weeks,as the mirazipine didnt work for me decided to stop on sertraline

I sometimes use alcohol as a last resort or double the dose of nytol, which makes me feel sedated next day. I am waiting for my meds to kick in so I no what you are going through. Take care. Mary

I don't sleep we'll. Have to take 2 nytol and a glass of whiskey. I am shattered but my brain won't shut down. I now what you are going through
