Hi how long have you bee taking the citalopram?, i have been told that they take up to 6weeks to work properly.? Have the meds calmed it from what it was? I ask this as I no these meds can go to a 40mg, and maybe you might need that bit more. Hope you feel better soon, maybe do a relaxation cd if you have one or a nice soak in the bath.

Hello bonnie ive been on citlopram for about 4 years on and off mostly on. was on 20mg now on 30mg i think i may need some counseling because i keep having episodes of severe anxiety lasting weeks and cant sleep very well so need meds to help me sleep so i can still function and go to work.

Maybe doc could give something for you to use jus for when you get an episode, might be worth asking him/her. Counseling I think is good idea, its always worth ago, I have just asked my doc about this, he said yes but have got to wait. I had CBT but found that useless, I was given 7 sessions and that was by a phone once every two weeks, and because I was to ill to do two of the phone calls I ended up only having 5 sessions, as they ha to stick to the weeks.

So all in all I had 5 hours of there time, not anywhere near enough for high anxiety, and not even face to face.

But i have been here before so hopefully with people like you it will be a lot easier to talk to

Your welcome Drew, and thank you. I have bad anxiety for 2years, however it got worse when my Daughter made me let my ex husband there farther sleep on my sofa for 6months as he was living in his car. And even now is using my garage and my hot water to bath, and I cant stand him, and dont want him near here or in here , but I have such anxiety that I cant do anything bout it as feel so ill all the time he mentally and physically abused me for 30 years, then when I did get rid off him my children gave me a hard time, My younger daughter more than anything, tells me its ok for him to come here. I stress about it so much I end up in bed feeling physically ill as again today.
