Last couple of days ive had neck tension which in turn sends me a bit off balance, sort of floating. Really hard to explain.
I was starting to feel a bit better until this happened!
Im think it is probably my dads up coming birthday ( dad died 5yrs ago) im trying to be positive and just go with it,but as a lot of you will know its hard. Trying to keep negative thoughts out of my head is proving hard at the minute.
Taking deep breaths and trying to keep occupied.
Does any body else suffer like this?

All the time, I've had neck tension for it feels like ever. I find by trying to keep my neck warm doing a bit of self massage and having a warm bath, oh and relaxation techniques do seem to ease it a bit xxxx

I know what you mean with that one, I have one who is just about to make cakes! Xxxx
Have you tried massage (by trained masseur) or acupuncture?? I find both can give good tension relief. I frequently struggle with neck, back and shoulder tension. The massage is normally fairly instantaneous, while the acupuncture takes longer but the benefits last longer. Slow, deep (stomach) breathing and trying to keep occupied is good for keeping your thoughts from straying, and the more you can "stay in the present" will hopefully minimise the time spent going over "what-ifs" and all the other things we tend to agonise over, but have no control over, or most likely will never ever happen!
Have you ever considered or tried Mindfulness Meditation? I find this has also helped me "stay present" and breaks the tension/anxiety spiral. If you "Google" Ekhart Tolle, this will show you a link to a series of video clips where he takes you through the principles behind it.
Try the link youtube.com/user/EckhartTea... I am currently working my way through his book called "The power of now" which embodies the above principles.
Hope this helps. Best of luck, Mallet-head x
Hi, yes i am a great believer of Mindfulness and have done many of the technics.
