new meds

well my friends doc took me off Sertraline, side effects were terrible after 2wks taking them. now i have been given Mirtazapine which i have to start tonight. Would love to hear from anyone who has felt this has helped them, as i am so desperate to get my life back. Hugs to all xx

Yes I've been on mirtazapine for months now and I find it really good for sleep, anxiety and depression. Everyone reacts different to meds but for me I feel it was a life saver. Initially I had indigestion and heartburn but it soon settled. I've been on Prozac and citalopram in the past but much prefer mirt hope it works for you good luck x

Thankyou Eve, so glad it has worked for you, will keep you posted as to how i get on, think i am just a bit nervous as to getting started on the mirt after the really bad side effects from the sertraline. Take care x

hi sanmure, my wife takes both, mirt, at night, sert, during the day because of really bad anxiety, & depression, mirt really helps her sleep , been on for 3mnths now, only drawback is the weight gain has put on about 7lbs despite watching everything she eats, I suppose you can"t have it always, all these pills have some kind of side effects. take care xx

Hi newton, thankyou for your reply, nice to hear your wife is doing ok, as for a few pounds extra weight i can cope with that since i lost about 4lbs on sertraline. Hoping this time i will be fine on mirt, will keep in touch , hugs xx

Hi Chartforum, sorry to say after two weeks of a really bad stomach which was getting very painfull, also palpitations and my anxiety got worse , found it really hard to sleep so i was tired all the time. I also came out on a rash on my arm, that is why my doc stopped them and has changed me on to mirtazapine. Hope this is of help to you, remember everyone has different side effects so this may not happen to you. let me know how you get on, take care x

hi eve,would be very interested to know ,what side effects you had starting mirtzipine,I was given these but afraid to take them,do they leave you feeling dizzy,any input would be appriciated..xxx
