extra beats
Hi andy,
I sometimes get a heart flutter, simular to butterflies in my stomach.
Then just carries on as normal. Maybe its just letting us know its still working
Compulsive behaviour, can be disturbing though, maybe if it was me, I would explain to myself that the symptoms were not dangerous, and checking my heartbeat wouldn't change anything, and trust in my heart to keep doing its job.
Then work out where I do this pulse checking, and remove one each day or week if it gets too difficult.
The best way to calm the heart is send it love, it likes that best.
Wishing you well

I have the odd heart beats, it usually is nothing to worry about just another part of the anxiety. I get it after talking a lot or even singing!, anything we do that doesn't have enough pauses for 'even spaced' breathing. Try to ignore it or at least go along with it and it will all be less in the fore. I'm in my 'dotage' and have had this most of my life and still here! cotonroad
I am the same. Have had these for so long and had all the various checks but I still with my anxiety think something bad must be happening. The only way I deal with it is to try and lay down and take deep breaths, this seems to help. Does anyone feel faint when you have these ectopic beats?
Iv`e had strange extra beats & palpitations since I was about 15, & having a strong family history of heart disease, this scared me to death. Iv`e had numerous tests which turned out to be normal apart from a benign condition called 1st degree heart block, so i try not to get to concerned about extra beats, but they are annoying.
I've been attached to a heart ECG monitor for 3 days as I get palpatations and flutters I'm sure it's just anxiety, got a follow up to get the results in 2 weeks. If your unsure have a word with your doctor
