Feeling overwhelmed. Widowed 2 years ago and my job of 28 years was eliminated in Sept 24. I thought I was doing ok but now that the severance package is ending and I am having to look for a new job some days it is just heavy.

Welcome LifeChanged61,
Welcome to the community. This community can be a place of comfort. There are many supportive members willing to listen.
Thank you. I appreciate knowing that I am welcome. It feels so foreign to be 61.5 and all of the sudden feel so lost. I miss my husband so much more than I realized I think. Maybe bottled all of that loss up and then the rest of the rug got swiped. Friends and family are great but they expect a certain amount of courage and strength and I feel less of that than ever right now. I like your name "Still trying" I am gonna remember to keep that in mind as I try to navigate.

Everyone handles grief differently. One day you can be fine and the next day it can overwhelm you. It’s ok to not be strong every day. I see grief as a journey with good days and bad days. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I hope you can find some comfort sharing here. You are not alone.
Keep courage and faith you got skills employers need more than others, welcome here, still surround urself with allies of this forum as well we are glad to have you nonetheless
Thanks a lot nativeblood. I appreciate having allies here. I'm not too worried about the job part, it will come. Just the feelings that are coming from the losses and wondering who the heck am I now. Not old but not a kid either so it seems hard and add in a Mom with dementia and I just need some way to vent my fears and worries.

many of us are here and you got options on who to follow as well also and chat with take your time as well remember to vent let it out as well
