A day at a time.

I'm not even sure where to begin. I've had a rough childhood and adult hood. Struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember. The depression started nine years ago. After a mess of my life, the last 3 years, I feel like I've gotten control on things. I also feel like I'm in a good place mentally right now. Still taking it a day at a time though. Depression hits when it wants.

that’s great! I’m so glad you’ve gotten control over the depression. My mental health has also improved within last few years, so much so that I’m going back to work, going to my interview in 3 hours.

Thanks so much Rufus! So it looks like I’ve got the job, she went over all about what I’ll be doing and she just needs to do background check and talk to references.

Thank you I’ll try my best to enjoy and make friends with the seniors. It’s a caregiver job. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I hope I can keep up with both homeschool and work and rest.

Hello and Welcome. I am glad you are in a good place mentally right now. What have you found has helped you?

The treadmill defiantly helps. Yoga also. It's a fight at times to get up out of bed. When I do get up and move, it's an accomplishment. That feeling of accomplishment, even the smallest things, helps change my mindset.

Glad to hear you're doing better! I've had depression my whole life. Things are getting better for me, I hope, but I'm going through a rough patch. When we're going through things/going through depression, sometimes all we can do is just take it one step, one day at a time. I wish the best for you.

I'm so sorry. Depression is an awful battle. But, you've got this. I know that feeling all too well. It's like something is holding you down at times. For me, I kind of force myself to stay busy. I find healthy distractions. It takes a lot out of me to do so. Keep fighting it.
