I also take setraline. Two tips: Only a psychiatrist with strong pharmacological experience can resolve this. Here's another point, an idea explained to me by my psychoanalyst, M.D. Suppose you are making progress with a medication. The progress may not be linear. There may be regression for various reasons. Something else: This is a question for your psychiatrist: Am I at my maintenance dosage? Hope this helps.

Couldn’t agree more with SHEPHER. I was recently advised by my GP that a Psychiatrist or a Clinical Pharmacist is best equipped to deal with AD issues.

You might talk to your prescriber and see if they will up the dosage. I was up to 200mg of sertraline for quite a while.

I understand what you are going through SHEPHER, for I experienced both anxiety and depression. HOLD ON, PLEASE. Medications are generally not magic bullets, and in my experience with depression and/or anxiety is that becoming relatively calm is likely to occur when you least expect it. You have to HOLD ON. You can do it because I did it. When the veil of fear was finally lifted from me, I forgot all about the mental anguish.

There were times when I hit my knees beside the bed and prayed to a god or higher power, not even knowing whether there was a supreme being. My dr kept me at 100 mg Sertraline for some months, and then I told him I was ready to move on to 150 mg. He agreed, and in a very short time some peace and freedom from the "thinking mind" began occurring. Dr also prescribed 0.5 mg Ativan twice daily to help take "the edge off." It's been a few years and I'm still at these dosages and doing ok. Don't want or need to go to 200 mg sertraline coz the side effects are more pronounced.

Watch your thoughts and accept what's occurring. If you don't accept what you are experiencing, then you are not accepting "what is," which ALWAYS leads to suffering. Right?...isn't this true for you? If you can see your thoughts as they rise up in your awareness, then this is evidence that you are not the mind. Your mind is tricking you in you feeling that you have to listen to the mind's game of controlling you. Pray for strength to not be at the effect of your mind. What is happening to you is taking place only in your mind. Let the thoughts come, but try not to follow them. What you are feeling will not kill you...I promise! They are just thoughts. Put your attention elsewhere if you can. I care about you!!!
