Waking from sleep with panic attacks

I have anxiety attacks during the day but have occasionally woke up from sleep but one. It has happened now for the past 3 days.I wake up with heart pounding and feeling anxious. It lasts about 10 minutes then goes away. Has this happened to anyone else?

do you think it’s dreams that are bringing these on. I have this too occasionally but I think mine is just from worrying about the upcoming day. Regardless, they are not fun.

I'm not having a bad dream when I have them.I also have depression and always worry about getting through the next day so I guess it's just my underlying anxiety. It helps to know others have it too!

So do I. I have also developed anger issues which is so much fun.

I haven't gotten anger issues yet, just sad. I had 2 good friends who were supportive but in the past 2 years they passed away,so I really have no one to talk to. My family wants to be supportive but they end up being frustrated with me for " not just dealing with the anxiety " and being happy

Hopefully the anger issues won’t find you. It really makes me feel like a horrible person. If they don’t experience it, they don’t understand. Wouldn’t that be great if we could “ just be happy?”

Thanks

I hate those night anxiety attacks. Mine are usually associated with a nightmare of a childhood memory. Impossible to fall back to sleep when your body is in adrenaline rush mode. Then I pray.

I don't remember mine associated with a bad dream .it would make more sense if it was.

It could be physical.

I have them too, occasionally. Used to have them worse.

One theory is that it’s something to do with cortisol levels.

What has brought down my anxiety to lower (but still hard to bear) levels is going gluten & grain free, and going keto. Many people lose their anxiety and depression altogether, but that hasn’t happened for me.

Give gluten & grain free a chance for some days, whether or not you are gluten intolerant.
