Hi. I've been taking mirtazapine 15mg for half a year. I'm gaining weight terribly and I don't eat much at all. I've always been slim and now I can't look at myself. What can I do to stop gaining weight?

did you gain weight when you started taking the medication or did it just start? Is weight gain a side effect of the meds? I gained a lot during menopause. I felt the same as you do. Felt disgusting when I looked at myself in the mirror. Mine was mostly in my stomach so I looked like a 56 year old pregnant woman! If your gain isn’t a side effect, you might want to call your doctor.

When i tried this med, all i could do was eat and sleep. I've gained 50 kilograms because of my meds and im gaining. Espresially if i start something new or something that brings my blood pressure down. I was 49 killograms when i started taking medication at 16 and now im 99 killograms at 23. And doctors are telling me im fat as if they don't realise meds do this. Im barely eating because im broke, nauseous and lost taste due to depression and still the killos are there. I hate it

Make sure you consult with your doctor before stopping. Some meds can have horrible withdrawal symptoms.
