i am wondering if mirtrazapine has a more sedating effect at higher doses does that mean the hunger will be less at higher doses? I have maintained my weight a month now on 7.5 mg and have been walking 2 miles a day 5 days a week. I am overweight by about 20 lbs as is. I wonder if 15 mg will make my hunger more? The hunger seems to have passed now on the 7.5mg. Anyone have some input?

Mirtazapine dose

I started on 15 and felt the hunger but it didn't last too long and now I'm on 30 and don't notice it

Have you gained weight at all and are you overweight? I am about 20lbs overweight before medication. I have found the hunger has passed. I wonder why google has nothing on hunger being less on higher doses if thats the case but a ton on it being less sedating in higher doses. If its more sedating in lower doses hopefully its more hungry in lesser dose too lol!
The only reason I can't truly answer your question is because I am taking steroids prednisone. So I have gained weight but that will be due to that
I feel your pain though. Gaining weight due to medication.... it's not like you can exercise and diet it won't make much difference.
I am on 15 mg and my weight has soared, I loath it but i really cant do without it because it certainly helps with my appalling sleep pattern.
