Hi guys, hope everyone is staying strong.
so I’m on week six of Lexapro, anxieties are still there, but I’m pushing through. Anybody out there on Lexapro give me some advice how long it took for them to feel better.
thank you

Well done on pushing through for six weeks! I don't have any advice to share, but just wanted to cheer for your accomplishment. 👏🏾😍
Hi, Not to be a "Debbie Downer" but none of these drugs ever worked for me. I've been on Lexapro, Zoloft, and so many others I can't remeber over many years. Bad side effects, but no relief. As you know, everyone's different. so maybe it will work for you. I'm on nothing now, just clonazipine for sleep, but barely works. Counseling worked for me, but only while I was actually in it, and with the right counselor. Group counseling was great, but that ended, too.
It took me a little over 2 months. It was really hard because I wanted it to work quickly because I was in such a deep, deep hole. I began to think I would never feel better. I will say that when it did start working like I needed it to, I realized it in hindsight. It did not feel like a curtain suddenly lifted. It was so gradual I barely noticed until I realized “hey, i am more myself now”. Also I had to be realistic about what to expect. I needed to function day to day and not feel so dissociated. That was accomplished but I still feel routine anxiety. Just not anything I can’t deal with. Hang in there. I promise it will get better.
I started to notice small changes in just one week after taking Lexapro. My blood pressure went down was the first biggest and remarkable change! It had been consistently high and after starting lexapro became consistently normal! It was about 4 weeks in that I notice I was not crying and feeling jumpy over every random thing that happened throughout the day. What dose are you on? Give it another month and see if you feel better. Then maybe increase the dose and see if that helps. Sending good thoughts to you.
