I have yet to find a med I can tolerate. Effexor and buspar just made me cry. Lexapro made me sick.

Does anyone take gabapentin for generalized anxiety disorder?

or trintillex?

I've never taken Gabapentin, but have been back on Buspar for several months and that, along with a very occasional Ativan usually works well for me. I was on Buspar many years ago and it worked really well for me then. Obviously each person responds differently to meds. Hope your doctor can find the right one(s) for you! Anxiety is such a horrible feeling....

I used to take both, but I had side effects with them. Now I am on Olanzipine and it works great so far. No side effects. It took me years to find the right medication, but sometimes even when you do, the medication can stop working which is incredibly frustrating. Good luck.

Sorry to hear you’re having Anxiety, My mom takes Gabapentin at night and helps her sleep some. But she had trouble finding anything to work without side effects. Only thing that worked was Xanax . Buspar was good for a couple weeks and then was horrible for her. Made anxiety much worse after a few weeks. I know it’s frustrating finding the. Right meditation.

I take gabapentin for anxiety. I was taking 400mg, 3xday and now I'm down to 2xday. It was a lifesaver for me when nothing else would work except Ativan, and I couldn't keep taking that long term. At first the gabapentin made me sleepy, so I took it before bed time, but now I don't feel drowsy, no side effects. Thank God! I also tried Trintellix for depression, but like Celexa and Lexapro, it gave me bad tremors. Then I found Auvelity, which works by a completely different mechanism, and that was a miracle for me! Auvelity is only for depression, not anxiety. Recently I was able to taper off the Auvelity and I'm doing well!

I pray that you find what works for you soon 🙏 It took almost a year of trying different meds to find the right combination. Don't lose hope. Find a doctor who is kind and compassionate ❤️

Sorry to hear that. The first psychiatrist i saw only wanted to meet online and barely even looked at me as he was typing notes the whole time. I'm thankful he's the one who had me try gabapentin, but after the anxiety went down, I realized I had depression too. Then I switched doctors, and wow, what a difference! She gave me hope and worked hard to get my insurance to cover the Auvelity, which is very expensive. People who are mentally unwell need kind and compassionate treatment. Don't settle for a bad doctor!
