Super weird experience

I had this super weird experience in the middle of the night after waking up. I was very tired. I woke up and once I tried to fall back asleep, it felt like my body was trying to sleep before my brain could fall asleep. I was conscious but feeling very heavy. My eyes were seeing these vivid colours moving and swirling around in these intricate kaleidoscope like patterns in my eyes. These lights were so bright that when I opened my eyes I couldn't see the room because the lights were so blindingly bright over top of my vision. I've seen these visions before while taking psilocybin. It was just so weird. I don't think it was sleep paralysis because I could move even though I felt very heavy. So because I was confused by what was going on, I was fighting off a panic attack. This is the second time it's happened. I don't know why I am getting these bright patterns in my vision in the middle of the night. It feels like its happening out of nowhere.

Thanks I appreciate your support. I have medical trauma so whenever I get these weird sensations that are unfamiliar, it gives me anxiety. It's super frustrating to feel out of control of your own body.
