I had a mammogram a few days ago and they found “something “ in my right breast. Have to go back for more intensive mammogram and an ultrasound on Tuesday. I’m trying not to let it worry me but cancer runs rampant on my moms side of family. It’s probably nothing, but you never know. This doesn’t help with the already bad anxiety. Just trying to stay positive! Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Sorry if this was an inappropriate post….just needed to get it out.
Hope everyone is having the best day that they can 🙂

I’m so sorry you received this news. I’ll say healing ❤️🩹 prayers. It’s understandable that you are anxious especially with a genetic predisposition of cancer in your family. This is not an inappropriate post. We are all here for each other. But beside here there might be a website on HU dealing with women’s’ health. About 30 years ago, I found something hard in my left breast. Went to the specialist and was told I could leave it there. There was no way in Hell that I was going to leave it in. It was removed and fortunately benign. Please keep us updated.
I'm so sorry you are going through this, it is understandable that you are worried. I know it will be difficult to pass the time until tomorrow but try to find something soothing to do that will take your mind off of it even if it's just a few minutes at a time.
I had a palpable mass in my right breast that didn't show up on a mammogram due to dense breasts. I had an ultrasound and a core needle biopsy and it turned out to be cystic. I remember having extreme anxiety. It's easy for me to say, but try not to "borrow trouble". Many breast masses turn out to be nothing.
I've had this happen twice and all was fine. I hope the same for you. Do you know if you have dense breasts (hope it's ok to ask)? That's my issue and why they can have trouble reading a basic mammogram for me.
It's normal to be anxious. When my mom had an exam on this, i was so anxious. Praying everything is okay. Be kind to yourself and trust the process. Don't read online and don't assume the worst. Everything will be alright x
Yes, exactly. I just called grandma to tell her her results are out and if she saw them, she said "nah, if something was off, they would tell me". This woman is wild
Well, I'm a man, but luckily I'm a medical interpreter for the pair Spanish-English, also called a "translator", meaning I translate the conversations between patient-doctors in either direction. In such a position I interpret lots of conversations where a patient has to have a mammogram done after having a routine screening procedure. The second one is called "diagnostic" and that's when they want to make sure everything is ok.
Why am I telling you all this? Because during those calls each time a patient gets referred for a diagnosis it is because there are many things doctors can still do to act on time in case they see something at that point. So, you're doing all the right things to get yourself checked and treated should the need arises.
Anxious? Who would not be??? But it helps a lot to stay positive and of course my heart goes to you in these moments. Let's be thankful for the good things and learn from the bad, and let's hope everything goes well like I've seen myself so many times.
