Needing advice from those who have had some issues finding the right antidepressants. What did you go through? Have you had some success after initial symptoms? I’m struggling finding what will work for me and struggling to figure out if I should try harder to ride through the symptoms or justifying if it’s not the med for me.

I’m in my third type of medication and the first month or few weeks were always a battle of the symptoms. Then the next few months were good, but then I return back to feeling egh. But mind you I haven’t been exercising which I know helps get my endorphins up besides walking my dogs. But I tend to get headaches when I try. Are the symptoms of the medication typical? If not let your doctor know and try something else or lower the dosage.

I went through the same thing. One thing to remember is that the medication does not cure to anxiety or depression, it only lowers the feeling for a little bit. It was hard for me but you have to try to find something you love or enjoy doing to distract yourself. Painting or walking, etc.. If you absolutely want to find better medication, talk to your doctor. They can fix the dosage of certain things based off what you’re feeling and what you think is or is not working!

Also, what symptoms are you having with the medication?

the doctors don’t tell you your brain is always working towards a homeostasis state. So if you take an SSRI eventually your brain will quit producing as much serotonin. So what happens? The doctor will just increase the dosage until you reach the max. At that point you’ll be prescribed something stronger or an additional medication. Then your body becomes physically dependent on the meds making it even harder to come off. You can see how dangerous of a cycle this is.. also these doctors are getting paid hundreds of dollars just for a 15 minute talk. So add greed from the doctors and you get a recipe for disaster. Not to mention all the side effects you get from being a “doctors” Guinea pig
