Anxiety and Covid

As far as I know this is my first time getting covid.

I had gotten sick a few times before but never tested.

This time I tested positive but it was very mild probably a little less than a cold. And I was testing negative on the 6th day. I still have a lingering cough and stuffy nose, but it’s almost nothing.

Even after testing negative, I have been having bad anxiety since I been reading a lot about new heart, lung problems, blood clots covid can cause. Doom scrolling is what they call it.

I consider myself somewhat healthy. Im 36 and My cardiologist gave me a clean bill of health earlier this year and also bloodwork was good last year.

I feel like my anxiety is just making me think of the worst. When though I feel fine. Even after a light walk.

Anyway, just sharing my rant and thoughts to anyone that is also going through it.

Hope you guys have a good day

I think your concerns are justified. The best thing you can do is call your Dr if you notice any of the symptoms you have read about.

The next best thing is don't google :) lol

Stay well

Hello Dolphin,

Im feeling rather fine. Besides the crippling anxiety.

I think that’s what makes it worse

I think it's good that you share your feelings here. It seems the brave new world we live in gives us so many possibilities to do the wrong thing, like doom scrolling...

I had Covid when it was 'brand new', in March of 2020. I wasn't very sick (my husband had fever that went up and down like crazy), but I did lose my sense of smell. It came back little by little during the following years. It's still not the same as before but good enough.

As far as I've heard, the risks of complications are lower with the 'current' virus than it was in the beginning. And I've also heard that if you've been vaccinated it makes the possibilities of complications even lower.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes the virus itself was not too bad. I guess my anxiety is just getting the best of me.

I appreciate your reply
