Hi Everyone! I need to be heavily sedated or hit on the head with a πŸ”¨ just kidding, but this is the 3rd day in a row I've been out of bed since 3am (once was 2am). I'm so exhausted but can't seem to sleep more than a few minutes at a time. I've tried everything. It's really affecting everything else. I've tried so many sleep meds and none have worked except for Trazadone. I'm up to 300mg at night and it's stopped working and gives me a really bad headache so I don't want to increase it.

Yours is a very common problem and finding a treatment for it ! Ive had sleeping problems along with depression and anxiety ! I eventually found a kind phyciatrist who but me on a medication called zopiclone 7.5 mg i take it 3 days a week and find it works i noticed your in the us and i dont know if they use it there it way be worth askin wither he can help i will say some people fine it causes a metallitic taste but that usually passes after a month ! I truelly hope ive helped in some way take care and good luck

Hi maybe persevere Try get in routine down early up early 6.30 7am

No sleep through day may help

Maybe something for headaches

And small increase in dose

If things improve can always go down a dose

All with docs advice and prescribed

Trazadone

Is a good drug if have lo g term issiues

I have had insomnia for over 10 yrs mine started with perimenopause. I understand the frustration. I am also in the same situation where I have tried everything. These are the things I have found helpful. It’s really good to have a nighttime routine going to bed at the same time every night. Try not to consume a lot of sugar or caffeine 3hrs before bedtime. Eat healthy meals and exercise during the day. Don't take long naps or lay down or bed rott for long periods in the day. Supplements like chelated magnesium at night. No tv in the bedroom and if that not possible blackout eye mask or if partner watches tv have them put Bluetooth headphones on so doesn’t disturb. Listening to calm apps or calming music or listening to podcasts or reading just before bed and lastly essential oil diffuser with chamomile or lavender or something that is for sleep. The key is routine. Good luck.
