Can't sleep

Everyday for the past week or so, I've not been able to sleep properly. Before I used to fall asleep in seconds, but now it takes hours and hours. I get really agitated at night because my brain likes giving me "depressing thoughts and scenarios" before I fall asleep. After a few hours I give up and go on my phone. I've tried drinking warm milk, taking a shower, I try not to use my phone before I go to bed, but I can't exactly get rid of my thoughts without distracting myself, which I can't do when I'm trying to sleep.

It's really annoying.

I don't know if it's insomnia or not, but does anyone have any tips?

I can sympathize. I dealt with this issue when I was having a lot of trouble with my job. I simply couldn't go to sleep at night, dreading the next day, and constantly thinking irrational things like "what if I'm never able to sleep again?" The only thing that helped me was going to bed super early, around 8:00pm. That way I had more time to fall asleep and I didn't feel rushed, counting down the hours until my alarm went off. I eventually had to end up quitting that job though, it was becoming too much for me to deal with.

Not being able to sleep sucks!

It's amazing how it really does affect everything else on your life moving forward. Like building a house on a weak foundation.

Last night I tried a tea for relaxation and it seemed to help a bit. Can't say it's the cure, especially after only one night, but it may be worth looking into.

Well I drank the tea again last night and had terrible sleep. I won't give up on it, but the search goes on for the cure. I guess that's why we're all here.

What kind of tea was it?

Traditional Medicinals Organic Cup of Calm Tea

Interesting flavor with the mint and licorice. I just wish I knew what else played a factor in my ability to sleep so well one night vs another.

I'm the same, I can't sleep every night. Haven't tried the tea thing so I might give it a go.

Worth a shot. There are others with valerian and other herbs so I think it's gonna be a long process to find which works best. They also make a Nighty Night Valerian Tea. That's my next purchase.

If you find a good one share it with me, please. 🙂😴

Ok thanks for the info and I'll let you know if I find one ☺

in reply toSuper-

How long before you go to bed do you drink the tea?

Usually 15-30 minutes. I've only done it twice so no real pattern yet.

Ok. Keep me posted. Thanks.

Depending what you need such as sleep etc. if you looked @ the option there was something small for you to do. like rubbing your pinky finger to trigger a sleep hormone for insomnia

It sounds interesting.

Where do I get this pic as I'm on the 5th night NO SLEEP at ALL feel delirious and am seeing things that are not even there thanks

No, what is that?

That's cool! Do you know exactly what is in it?

That's okay, I had a look and all the ingredients are natural, which is really good, so I'll try it, thanks :D

Last night I slept even worse, I had normal tea to try making me sleepy, and it did, but I ended up crying because my thoughts got so bad. I don't even know if it's a normal thing, to cry every night. I just hope it doesn't happen again tonight.

I dont know how to define normal, but I'll tell you it's ok to cry. We all wish you/we didn't have to but it's not like we want to. It's a release that your body needs. I recently went to my doctor and was telling him a story and started crying almost out of nowhere. I didn't even really feel it coming on.

I tried a calming tea that was good, and tonight I bought a sleeptime tea that has valerian in it. Fingers crossed.

If you're up before dawn and can get to a dark area you can catch the meteor showers. One benefit with being up.

Dang, I missed it :(

I think there might be more in the sky tonight.

I hope so, it would make staying up slightly better.

Normal Tea will have caffeine in it, so wont help. I completely quit caffeine and opted for herbal teas to try get back to some routine. Iv been where you are and it DOES get better...hang on it there
