new medical conditions from ER visit

went to the ER 2 weeks ago for panic and anxiety and horrible intrusive thoughts. Was thinking I need to be admitted to the psych ward if needed. Second ER visit this year for this. This visit was better because the nurses and doctors actually cared. Got EKG done and found an arrhythmia in my heart. Condition called WPW. Guess the symptoms are being anxious, lightheaded, rapid heart rate. Anyone else experience this. Guess it’s something you’re born with and stimulants (caffeine), stress, alcohol, smoking can cause it. I don’t drink or smoke but enjoy a few cups of coffee a day. Was told to cut that out. And to stop taking Prozac because it’s more stimulating. I feel better these past few weeks now. See a cardiologist this week. Plus they think I might have sleep apnea as well because of my blood levels (hemoglobin and hct). Everything else checked out good. I always would experience physical anxiety/depression symptoms before the mental psych out kicks in. Anyone else had these medical conditions experience of WPW or sleep apnea?

I've never had any of these conditions, but I'm so happy the ER caught your arrhythmia. I bet that will help relieve some of your anxiety. Sorry about not being able to drink coffee! Hope all turns out well for you!

thank you. Kinda frustrating that when I was at the ER 4 months ago they didn’t catch it. They said they were going to do an EKG but never did. Basically gave me a Ativan and had me go on my way.
