i suddenly began experiencing constant anxiety about two weeks ago around jan 10th. the first week i had trouble sleeping and trouble eating.
then my usual doctor (who only talked to me for ten minutes and practically blew me off) started me on sertraline 100mg on jan 17 and the last four days have been horrible. increased anxiety and nausea. i went to see another doctor who was more attentive and actually talked to me about my symptoms and side effects. he told me to stop taking the sertraline and switch to 10mg of escitalopram (better known as lexapro) in the morning and 7.5mg of Buspirone three times a day. this is only the first day of taking the new meds and the side effects seem to be slightly lessened but obviously still feeling bad anxiety.
id like to know if anyone has positive stories or experiences while taking either one of these drugs or both at the same time like me. want to know how other people have felt while in the beginning stages of taking these meds.
please only positive stories.
any negative or bad experiences will trigger me.

Did your gp tell you to start on 100mg of sertraline? I started on 25mg and worked up to 75mg over 6 weeks and it definitely helps. I do still get anxious days but there not as bad as they have been so definitely stick with the medication if you can. Have you looked into CBT it can help I have similar symptoms to you it affects my sleep and eating I hope one day I learn to coupe better with it and except the anxiety as fighting it is the worst thing to do.
I was on sertraline and my anxiety got worse and episodes closer together. I weaned off and then started escitalopram which has been great! No side effects I’m aware of and has help d to prevent me going into a deep depression again. Having a few bad days here and there but that due to outside influences. Very happy with medication💕
Hi! I took Escitalopram for anxiety for 9 years and it worked great. I sometimes went up to 20mg when I was feeling a bit more anxious, and 10mg when I was a bit more stable. I’d say def get up to the 20mg if you’re feeling particularly anxious.Side effects were minimal (some drowsiness and sexual side effects got the first few months). They really really helped me feel great for a long time.
