So it's 05.10 here, slept all day (yesterday) until 17.30 then pretty much drank myself happy. I know I'm going to suffer for it but ffs it's the only thing that chills me out. Anyone else here like this?

I sometimes resort to not-so-healthy coping mechanisms, yes. Sometimes it just gets too overwhelming and I want the pain to stop and I go to old, familiar ways that I know will numb me.
Hello mate, well I used to drink like that for years, don't any more I'm pre diabetic so was advised to knock it on the head , it wasn't as easy as it sounds to stop and still is hard . The other reason I stopped was I'm having an operation on my spine in turkey, and i don't want to make myself ill because it would be a waste of money and i hate waste
Hi Will48,Our relationship to 🍺 alcohol and other drugs as coping mechanisms are well known in mental health.
We do what we feel helps us in our "moments". I get that.
We shouldn't ignore the fact, that our liver working so hard to clean our blood, won't thank us in the long term.
Are you able to have a conversation with your doctor about your mental health issues and how you feel the need for drinking as a coping mechanism?
Whenever you are ready, book an extra long appointment because there will be a lot to talk about.
In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy a frothy 🐈⬛
I wish I drank sometimes 🤪
