The fear of long life

One of my greatest fears is God cursing me with a long life of this suffering. I don’t want to live past 50. That may seem silly to you, but in my eyes I should’ve died a long time ago. He has saved me so many times from near death car wrecks. It’s as if His loving arms are around me all the time and I am very grateful. Your thoughts?

Since I'm now 54 years old and lived through three suicide attempts between the ages of 18 to 21, God was the only one that could have saved me. The last time was extremely severe and I was only 15 minutes away from death so was told by my family physician. My thoughts are that you should never wish for death as it will come soon enough for everyone. There are both high points and low points in life and nobody told us it would be easy either. Without sadness we wouldn't know what happiness meant and visa versa. Humans have the ability to have both emotions and free will which makes us different from every other animal on the planet. Sometimes we feel too much and sometimes we can go too far. I should have died a long time ago too but I didn't as God kept me here to share my story with others in the hopes that it might save another. If I can be in anyway helpful in this time of pain for you I want you to reach out to me at anytime ok. I know what it's like to be deeply depressed so much that you can't function properly because of major depressive disorder PTSD and adjustment disorder. I know how it feels to say I wish that I would just die now and be as bold as to tempt fate with our Lord. When I die it will be on God's time and not mine which is they way it should be as life is a gift to us. We were chosen out of so many to be born by the Lord above so who are we to question why because God makes no mistakes.

I just read this. I know why you are still here. Your words are beautiful, given to you by the Holy Spirit. God has much more work for you to do and you are very much needed around here. You are special, fearfully and wonderfully made. He has a plan for all of us and that can never be wasted. Depression is a thorn in your side, just like Paul. He said it was for his benefit, to make and mould him as the Lord wanted him to be. We all have to live this life with some kind of fight, and as Paul said again “We finish the race.” Take care my friend.
