I am trying to find somebody other than my regular doctor to talk to about my depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I am taking medications for these and have had this condition for years. Lately my condition has been not so good. I am on disability because of this. The downside is my insurance doesn't cover any mental health issues. Anyone have any suggestions or where to look for some help?

here in the UK we have charities non profit who provide mental health support not sure if similar help is available in America you can ask your doctor or google it up and see what you get.
Hello. If you're in the States, a good place to start is through your state's chapter of NAMI (nami.org/). If you're in Canada, perhaps check out (canada.ca/en/public-health/.... There's also many NGOs you can contact depending what province you're in.Good luck.
Well, you have found us; We all are in different stages of need and/or recovery, so pull up a chair and start chatting. We are a friendly and supportive bunch here.
It's also anonymous, but we recommend that you lock your posts to the community, for your own security. We do get the occasional troll, so locking posts helps.
Cheers, Midori
Google “psychologists near me free” and all sorts of places come up. It may or may not work, but give it a try. Just did it for NJ and lots came up like Catholic Charities. Oh and your local church, priests take many of or the same courses psychologist do. Try that ☺️
If you're in the states, as Cashew78 stated try NAMI, and also check livewell-foundation.org. Live Well has free online peer support groups throughout the week on Zoom. I joined them a while ago for a few months and they were really helpful. Very organized and great moderators. Also check with your county; they may have something. My county has great resources and a pretty good crisis support line and peer support line in case you need someone to talk to. Hope you find the support you need!
